Stop Blending In! 3 Ways to Brand Your Instagram Reels
Instagram Reels are exploding in popularity, and that means it's more important than ever to make yours stand out. Want to grab attention and grow your audience? You need to leverage your brand in every single Reel. Here's how to do it: If you have not tried out Reels, they are a fun way to promote your brand to a wider audience than a regular Instagram post. Reels are short video clips. Since you only have a few seconds to speak, it’s important to reinforce your brand visually. Here are a few tips on how to do it.
Dress the Part (Color is Key!)
Think of your Reels as mini commercials for your business. What's the first thing people notice in a commercial? The visuals!
Wear Your Brand Colors: Incorporate your brand colors into your outfits. My main brand color is pink, so I try to wear a pink shirt in my reels.
Set the Scene: Use props or backgrounds in your brand colors. Think balloons, flowers, or even a wall. I have been filming many branding videos and I am getting ready to paint my office pink.
Captions that Pop & Reinforce your Brand
Don't let your captions be an afterthought! They're valuable real estate for reinforcing your brand.
Color-Coordinate Your Text: Use the Instagram Reels text tool to add captions in your brand colors.
Level Up with Custom Graphics: Want to really wow your audience? Create eye-catching captions with custom fonts and graphics in Canva or Photoshop. Save them as PNGs (with transparent backgrounds) and add them to your Reels using a video editing app.
Create a Call to Action
I like to end my Reels with a call to action graphic. Call to actions are simple cues prompting the viewer on their next steps such “sign up for my newsletter” or “click the link in my bio.”
To create a call to action graphic, open the graphic editing software of your choosing such as Canva or Photoshop and make a new image that is 1080 by 1920 pixels. I recommend featuring your brand colors along with an image that relates to your message.
Limit the amount of text to create a simple statement and place it in the middle third of your image (unlike my example).
Save the image as a Jpeg and send it to your smartphone photo library. From the Reels interface, you can add the clip to your video.
