A Glimpse of Carmel: New Landscape Oil Paintings

I know it's been a minute since I've shared what's been happening on the painting front. Life, as it often is, has been crazy, but I've been quietly chipping away at some new work that I'm incredibly excited about. So, I wanted to give you a peek inside my studio, and show you what I have been working on.

A Coastal Escape: Inspiration from Carmel

Meg Link on the Pacific Coast Trail

In November of 2024, Henry and I escaped Atlanta and traveled to San Fransisco for a long weekend and some extra Delta MQDs. One windy morning, we rented a car and headed down the iconic Pacific Coast Highway until we hit the charming town, Carmel-by-the-Sea. After lunch and leisurely stroll around the town, we headed to the beach. I was struck by the vegetation and the beautiful golden light. I knew immediately that Carmel was going to be the subject of my next oil painting collection.

Naturally, I did what any artist would do: I whipped out my iPhone and started snapping away. I took... well, let's just say a LOT of photos. But those photos couldn't fully capture the beauty of the landscape.

Fast forward a few months, and I am finally getting my work on canvas. This collection has been evolving as I have been painting. I am curious to see what makes it into the final collection of paintings.
