I always enjoy the challenge of shaping a new brand. That’s why I was excited when Atlanta attorney, Max Ruthenberg-Marshall, came to me for help rebranding the Ruthenberg-Marshall Law Firm. She changed the name of her firm to Porchlight to reflect her inclusive family values and vision of a modern family law practice. The Porchlight Law Firm specializes in divorce, custody, child support, adoption and pre and post marital agreements.
Before designing a logo, we selected an eye-catching blue and golden-yellow color scheme to reinforce the firm’s new name. The colors connote feelings of trust which is one of Porchlight’s central values.
Max wanted a clean design that promotes warmth and the security of family while alluding to the name Porchlight. Here are a few of the initial concepts I designed that incorporated a flame or a beacon of light.
To reflect Max’s minimalist sensibilities, we decided to go with a more streamlined logo. I paired the typeface Helvetica with the logo for a timeless design. The bold logo is professional and reinforces Porchlight’s core beliefs.
